i came here to see if it had the columns music, and it did, very nice
also never seen a columns version with quick drop, now it just needs ghost pieces like tetris and it'll be amazinglier

Really beautiful version of Columns :)

Nice music too!

Thank you so much :)

does this have flash columns mode?

Not at the moment, sorry. That might be something cool for me to add, though! :D

i love this game thank you for making this i love the wild card mechanic it's just amazong

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah the wildcards are my favourite too. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Nice game but oh god, the music is annoying!

(1 edit)

You can turn the music off in the pause (P/Enter) menu. ๐Ÿ˜€

Edit: Turns out the Music: Off option wasn't working properly, it's sorted in 1.02! :)

really? its one of my favorite game music

I wish as well as the next trio, the side showed the current one. By the time it gets low enough to tell what it is, it's too late to use effectively.

That's a good idea, I'll see if I can add that in, the only problem I can see is that it might make the UI a bit confusing at a glance if there's two trios displayed. I'll look into it, though. ๐Ÿ˜€

Edit: Added in 1.01! :)

Hiii, I've made a video about the game and wanted to share some feedback about it, hopefully it is useful to you ^^

-The concept is quite interesting.

-The visual style works great with the theme of the game.

-The gameplay mechanics are very good and fun, but it could be interesting if the difficulty increased faster than it actually does, just to make it feel more dynamic.

Hopefully this is useful to you :D, also if you could subscribe that would help me a lot :)

Regards

Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!

I'm thinking about making it speed up faster, it's quite slow at the moment because I find it frustrating how quickly the Megadrive version got really quick, and it made the games too short, I think I'll give it some adjustment though. ๐Ÿ˜€

Good to hear ^^, you are welcome :D

I've re-jigged the speed a little bit, overall the speed increases quicker, but the individual jumps should be a bit smoother now.

awesome :D

Just a suggestion, but is there any chance you could make soft drop a little bit faster in this game? It feels rather slow playing without hard drop on

I take it you're holding the down/soft drop button? I don't really use it that way, I tend to tap the down button, so I haven't really tested it playing the other way. I'll give it a look. ๐Ÿ˜€

Yea; that's the way I do it. It gets a little tiring having to keep tapping down sometimes, though

I was able to get 3056 on Modern mode after a few rounds. VERY satisfying game to play :)

Wow, cool score. Glad you appreciated it! Once I had the basic gameplay coded, it was such a fun game to test just because of the fact the original is such a great game.

I was thinking about how you can't really see the active piece near the top of the board. To my amusement, you address exactly that issue in 1.01 :D Amazing!

The speed change in arcade mode after 500 or so points ("classic" leveling) is very sharp. Is that actually true to the classic? If so, you really need a clean board to do well beyond that.

I've improved the speed increases a bit in 1.02. The jumps in speed on the higher levels shouldn't be as sudden now. :)

Great game. I love the original Columns.

Wow thanks for making a video, congrats on the satanic high score! >:D

This is really well made, good job!

Many thanks! :)

The port is nice!

By the way, i have the original game along with Puyo Pop on my old cellphone

Puyo Pop is the same as Dr Mario/Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, right? I love those games! :ยฌ)

Record

Awesome! :ยฌ)

This is the definitive version of Columns.

Wow that's high praise. Glad you enjoyed it! :ยฌ)
